Lemon
Founder & CEO
Lemon is a longtime builder of businesses, open-source tools, and volunteer communities. His role is to get everybody rowing in the same direction, and to ensure we're shaping a culture where creativity thrives and bureaucracy is forbidden. He believes that great work comes from giving passionate people the space to explore and experiment, and makes sure everything we build holds that philosophy at its core.

Skuldon
Full Stack Engineer
Skuldon is a certified Python fanatic who never shuts up about readability. When he writes a letter to his mom, even that letter is PEP8-compliant. He’s been part of countless postmortems - some of them literal - and never shuts up about continuous integration. He writes code "that even your grandma could understand", and his documentation goes bone-deep. In his spare time, Skuldon enjoys tabletop roleplaying (yes, he's a DM), maintaining an artisanal dotfiles repo, and playing the trombone.

Full Stack Engineer

Tully
Support & Client Success
Tully is gruff but plush. He completely reworked our ticketing system in a way that is surprisingly elegant for someone who eats rocks every day. If you send in a bug report, Tully will either fix it himself, tell Skuldon to fix it, or accidentally eat the ticket. On his spare time, Tully enjoys absolutely destroying eating competitions and scaring the shit out of animals that try to cross his bridge.

Head of Observability
Orb’s all-seeing eye(s) watches over the business and keeps tabs on stuff like whether you are clicking in a stupid place or in the place you're supposed to click. Formerly a visionary (get it?) strategic analyst for a hedge fund, Orb now floats serenely between dashboards and spreadsheets, whispering KPI targets to management like an unwelcome prophet. He might look absolutely terrifying, but he's a real softie when you get to know him. Soft and gooey.

A marketing veteran with 700 years of field experience, Hector has sold everything from war bonds to NFCs. He spends his days sleeping and his nights working our graveyard shift. Hector enjoys hanging out with his familiars and posting harrowing conspiracies to social media.

Key Account Manager
Carla brings a sharp eye (several, technically) to putting the right clients in front of us. Her stone-cold focus on quality means our pipeline stays full of warm, qualified leads. She also plays bass in a local glam rock band, and is always wearing something absolutely ✨ f a b u l o u s ✨.

Creative Director
Wendy used to do maritime work, and sometimes sings lovely shanties in the office that really capture your attention. After an incident involving a pirate, she decided to go into creative work full-time, and she now oversees all design and branding initiatives for us. Fun fact about Wendy: she collects various animal skulls because "they might come in handy some day".

OUR MISSION
Hideous Monster is a small team of terrifying creatures who are trying to help businesses build exceptional engineering departments. We help startups and scale-ups find their engineering voice, and ensure their developers are driven by curiosity and passion, rather than by fear and burnout.
This usually keeps us exceptionally busy, but whenever we can, we love building cool micro-SaaS products and tools to superpower our work and the work of our clients.
